Man dies after being shot in buttocks

ARDEN, CA - A man is dead after getting shot in the buttocks Tuesday night.

The shooting happened around 9:07 p.m. near a Motel 6 on the 2000 block Arden Way, Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos said.

According to Ramos, a motel security guard said he heard a gunshot and advised another employee to call for help.  The guard then walked the motel and found the 24-year-old man in the parking lot suffering from a single gunshot wound to the buttock.

Paramedics arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, said Ramos.

The preliminary investigation into the shooting did not return any leads on suspects or motives, and no witnesses were located, Ramos said.

Deputies search for suspected Rio Linda home invaders

RIO LINDA, CA - A Rio Linda man was beaten with a baseball bat during an apparent home invasion Wednesday morning.

Tim Wallin, 18, was hospitalized with serious injuries after being attacked by three men, according to his father.

Another young man who was holding an ice pack to his back told Sacramento County sheriff's deputies that he, too, was struck by the intruders who forced their way through the front door.

A neighbor said the home at 1006 G Street was the scene of frequent drug activity.

The neighbor said he found the activity especially upsetting because the house is directly across the street from the Rio Linda Preparatory Academy.

Wallin's father, Robert, said his son had been kicked out of the family's home because of bad behavior, but insisted he was not involved in drug dealing.

Roseville cops bust suspected drug dealer

ROSEVILLE, CA - A Carmichael man is being held in Sacramento County Jail on drug possession, sales and weapon booking charges.

Michael Ramborger, 45, was arrested last week when Roseville police detectives found him with methamphetamine and heroin packaged for sales in his possession said police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther. Detectives also reported recovering a loaded handgun with its serial number removed from Ramborger.

Detectives suspect Ramborger of selling drugs in Roseville and other area cities, Gunther said.

Ramborger is ineligible for bail because he is believed to have violated conditions of supervised release as a state prison parolee, Gunther added. Classified as a"non-violent, non-serious, non-sex-offender," Ramborger was on probation.
